Senior Vice President Site Strategy/Development
How do you prefer to start your day?
I always start my day with exercise. Exercising gives me energy throughout the day as well as time to think about work and life. Taking time to think outside of technology provides a great deal of clarity. This start provides a perfect platform to start my day.
What energizes you at work?
Finding creative solutions to solve business problems and helping others develop professionally. It’s also important for me to help create a culture of “can-do,” and “possibility thinking” to bring positive energy and excitement to the workplace.
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
Believe in yourself and don’t be afraid to take a chance. My brother-in-law encouraged me to open my own business. He helped me see that I had all the skills to make it happen and he was right. We need to stretch ourselves to address situations which make us uncomfortable in order to grow professionally. The more chances I take, the more comfortable I feel taking chances and I learn more about myself.
What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?
I like road cycling, running, golfing, and reading. I enjoy biographies — the stories of how lives and careers develop. I’ve become a big believer in not necessarily having a prescribed path in life but looking for open doors and taking the path that feels right. A lot of the decisions I make are intuitive and that has served me well.
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
Time travel, to be able to go back and see life from my current perspective.
